How does scanning work?

Scan a product's barcode and Fossa looks it up and analyzes its ingredients with AI to generate a safety score, with a full breakdown of what's inside.

What does the score mean?

The score (0–100) reflects how clean and safe we believe a product is based on its ingredients — accounting for additives, processing level, allergens, and your personal Scoring Lens settings.

How are allergen warnings detected?

Fossa checks the full ingredient list against the allergens and sensitivities you've added in your profile, and flags any matches prominently on the result screen.

Why do I see Healthier Alternatives?

If a product scores low or contains one of your flagged allergens, Fossa suggests similar products that score higher and avoid your allergens.

Is my data private?

Your scan history, saved products, and allergy list are stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed entirely through your Apple ID. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device, or use the "Manage Plan" section inside Fossa's Settings.
